M1 The Crab Nebula

The Crab Nebula (M1) Taken from my Back yard Stargate Observatory on 17/18 Dec 2009 with a LX200 14" GPS at F6 and a SBIG ST2000XCM. Image time 3.1 Hr total, 7 ea 15 Min and 8 ea 10 min Subs Aligned with Images Plus processed with Photoshop CS4
M1 is approximately 6500 light-years away The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant and pulsar wind nebula in the constellation of Taurus.
The nebula was first observed by John Bevis in 1731, and corresponds to a bright supernova recorded by Chinese and Arab astronomers in 1054.


Taken in Las Cruces NM 28-Nov-2006 with DSI Pro II through an LX200 10" Guided with DSI PRO on a Piggybacked SV80-9D 1.5hr Ha 2Min Subs 30min RGB each 2Min Subs Aligned with Autostar IP processed with Photoshop
